The City of Yokohama Frankfurt Representative Office was happy contributed to the
Nippon Connection Film Festival again this year. In a special effort, City Promotion Officer Ms. Maria Deutsch
held a workshop about kimono,
the traditional Japanese dress.

Chief Representative Naoki Mimuro was one of the speakers at the Luminale
Pecha Kucha Night at the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt. He presented
Smart-Illumination Yokohama, an illumination event similar to Frankfurt's
Luminale. The next Smart-Illumination Yokohama will take place in October 2012.

On the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the Great East-Japan Earthquake and tsunami disaster, the Japanese
consulate general in Frankfurt organised a reception to thank the Rhein-Main region for its strong support.
The City of Yokohama thanks the City of Frankfurt and its citizens, who through a large donation enabled
the reconstruction of a facility for the disabled in Sendai.

This is once more evidence for the strong ties between Frankfurt and Yokohama.

ANA opened a new direct connection between Frankfurt and Haneda. This shortens travel time to Yokohama significantly.
In a oartnership with Yokohama, ANA
promotes our beautiful city to travellers in their airplanes and on the ground.
We look forward to welcoming many more travellers from Europe!

A business symposium on the subject of business environment and company setup in Yokohama was held in Frankfurt.
Besides Mayor Fumiko Hayashi, high-ranking speakers from JETRO, Hitachi Power Europe GmbH and Continental AG did presentations.
Over 70 people attended.
